3D printed Moxon

A few months back i made a 2 meter moxon out of 10 mill diameter alloy pipe ,the antenna worked well in comparison to the 3 element beam i have up at home ,but it was not very practical to fasten to a rucksack so the next plan was why not 3D print one.
The resulting antenna looks good and the from start the swr was 1.7:1 so with a little trimming it is now 1.3:1 and quite flat from 145.200 to 145 775, i have found that it must be at least 3 meters high to achieve that figure so on the 3-4-and 5 meter roach pole’s it’s fine.
Being collapse able it will fit in the rucksack easy, so i now need to test it for real against one of Richard’s many set up’s to find out how it performs on the hill’s

outside testing the swr

at the moment the spacers have metal screw’s to hold the wire in place but a better alternative would be plastic one’s if i can fine some

Hopefully see this in action soon Reg. It looks interesting . Are the Moxon antennas directional ?
Richard.

Hi Richard yes they are directional but a bit wider than the B&Q three element beam. The radiator at the front and reflector at the rear same as the beam, and hopefully still have some gain ?
