I think that is a under statement. I had been considering Great Worm Crag and Green Crag for a while, they had not been activated since 2018 with good reason. The lack of a path made it hard going and if it was not for the dry spell it would be very boggy

Ricard 2e0xgo agreed to accompany on the walk it’s not an area either of us knows very well, but route finding was fairly simple even with the lack of path .The weather was perfect for walking not too hot and little wind , we only made 2 contacts on Great Worm Crag 2E0MIX DEREK and M0SKY LEN . On to Green Crag we kept to the high ground to avoid the boggy section but again it was pathless

A good summary of the day Reg. I did take a couple of photos but the above capture the features and views of that part of the lakes .
If I was to do that walk again . Though the OS maps don’t really show any specific paths and the one I had printed of a route posted on a website had the route marked as we took , I’d be tempted to try and avoid the marsh by going over that raise which I think is marked on the map as White How , which we nearly did on the way back .It might add 5 minutes or so on to the walk but maybe drier at most times of the year?
It was good to work Alex on Pillar as well .

Reg heading out over what would normally be very wet ground I suspect? The soft spongy tussocks made the relatively level ground harder than it should have been .

I think with hindsight we could have made the walk a bit easier but you tend to get drawn in to going the shortest route.
The main thing is we got there and back safely
