I have just seen G4OBK’s post on the SOTA reflector the sad news that Terry Sayner G0VWP has passed away.

Terry was one of only 4 amateurs who have activated all 330 Wainwright summits. I have met Terry on quite a number of occasions and chased him many times. Some of you will have activated summits with him.

I met up with Terry in either 2021 or 2022 when he was staying at a camp site in Annan. I picked him up and we went out to Powfoot for a drink. He was a great person and an absolute gentleman to.

He will be greatly missed.

Two of only four people to complete the activation of all 330 Wainwrights, both now silent key.
My Wainwright journey would never have started without the company and encouragement from Colin, G4UXH, and Terry, G0VWP.
Here’s a photo I took, 13/08/2013 after Colin and I activated Seatallan, and met up with Terry On Buckbarrow.
I will always think fondly of them both.
