Gavel fell and the killer ants

A trot up Gavel fell after work with some great views from the summit…a sticky walk but was just what I needed to be out on the tops playing radio…no photos from the summit with been attacked by flying ants which decided to bite which was very very unpleasant and never have witnessed this before.

Again took the ft3d/flowerpot antenna and wkd 2m fm and again C4FM digital. Also aprs with SA6BSS a hot air balloon in the list plus OZ7MKS in Denmark.

hi mike there is nothing worse than activating a summit and being eaten alive by insects. i was on Kidsy Pike and activating with a water proof jacket over my head to keep the b…s of

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the contacts on FM & C4FM. Excellent photos. You must have gone up Gavel fell via Cogra Moss going by the opening photo? The views are excellent. Alot better than when Derek and myself did it back in 2015. We did it from Maggies Bridge.
