Holme fell with Richard 2e0xgo

We had already activated Holme Fell last year but due to unexpected road closure we could not get to Lingmoor Fell the summit we had posted on the WOTA site

We always take different kit to test one against the other
Richard had his Any Tone mobile 25 watts and a three element beam made up from a BNQ waste pipe and three welding rods

I had my Icom pmr mobile 25 watts plus an antenna designed by Shane G6WBS px3, 3 half waves on a 6 meter roach pole.The last couple of times the px3 came out best but this time Richards BNQ antenna was at lest 2db better once pointed in the right direction

some fells are a dog walker hill of choice but this one it like Binsey mother a baby .We came across three different ones, at minus 3 on the top it always makes wonder ?

Nice photos of the day Reg,
I think personally you can get some nice views and photos from some of the more diminutive fells under certain conditions than from the summits of the big ones even though they can be harder to get 2m contacts.

Another set of nice photos from Holme fell. It looks a nice fell and is one i have never done. I have seen it many times though!
