Main WOTA website is now SSL/TLS encrypted

Yesterday (21/08/2020) the main wota.org.uk website was switched over to use https:// as the only protocol. This makes the site more secure.

It is a pre-requisite for some enhancements I have in the pipeline relating to GPS functionality which is only available to sites running over SSL/TLS.

I noticed this morning that the summit description pages were broken due to a bad URL reference which had started causing problems since the switch. Please let me know if you see any other oddities, or if when viewing a page on wota.org.uk you see the unlocked padlock or ‘Not secure’ next to the URL:

This probably means I need to make an edit to the page so that all http:// references are moved over to https://

You should always see a padlock:

I have noted that this discourse server is not running over https:// either, so will look into what I can do to correct that too.

All secure here and working fine…only thing that has changed for me but not bothered about very much is when browsing on my smart tv…I went from the wota page to discourse and it wanted me to log in to discourse which I tried but was never going to happen.
This is not a problem but just thought you would like to know Mark
