when i left the car at seathwaite farm it was -2c and carrying a rucksack weighing almost 25kgs with crampons and ice axe and radio’s and set of up grains gill for esk hause there was only two other cars parked
seathwaite fell can be seen in the middle of the photo the first 2 thirds was easy going until i reached the hard pact snow and ice greatend in good winter condition brought back fond memories from 40 years or so a go when i use to be on there almost every weekend wx permitting and climbing every possible route great gable across sprinkling tarn looking across to seathwaite fell the lower one in the middle being the wainwright summit and not the highest point on the left the fell in the middle of the photo is scafell pike with lingmell on the right i could see people on the summit of scafell pike from were i was allen crags on the left with esk pike and greatend this muppet was heading for esk hause the snow in the sun was up to my knees so he was in for a big surprise looking across sty head tarn in to keswick
it was good to see some walkers with the right gear
a last look back at seathwaite fell just as it started to spit with rain
back to seathwaite farm and now a lot more cars still it was a fantastic day on the fell and thanks all chasers for the contacts tony G1oae derek 2e0mix craig2e0vrx/p and peter GM3vmb
