A very nice circular walk from the Cold Fell road , to Lank Rigg , Crag Fell then Grike in deal walking conditions, warm with a nice breeze , used the Anytone 779 for 2m and Motorola for 4m with flowerpot antennas .
We spoke to a man from North Carolina on Lank Rigg who was doing a few Wainwrights while in the UK . We also had a brief sombre moment on Crag Fell when asked by a chap with his Labrador to take a couple of pictures of him and the dog , scattering some ashes by the cairn belonging to another faithful four legged friend who had accompanied him on many Wainwrights past . Someone had also put a flag on the cairn presumably for VE day ?
