It looked like the only chance to get out walking (or fishing) for a few days was between 7AM and Midday today . After overnight rain It was forecast cloudy, moderate winds S veering SW 6 or 7 increasing 8 to Gale 9 with rain about 12.00. You know where you are with the Beaufort scale instead of these , “they call the wind Mariah” forecasts from the media these days .
We managed to get Woodend Height and Yoadcastle in which I put notices up for , White pike was a possibility too but as the weather began to deteriorate , I decided to cut and run from both summits , after working four stations on Woodend , and five on Yodecastle . Only the one last call today Reg’.
